These worksheets are perfect as revision after you have created a picture graph with the kids from the story using the free food picture printable that I have created.
Teachers even use printable worksheets. The kids are allowed to trace the numbers, letters and even join dots. This is the perfect way to control the movement of the wrist and fingers of the kids who are practicing these worksheets. With continuous practicing it gets easier for the children to learn and write clearly. Worksheets are used in schools to practice cursive writing. Worksheets can be a fun activity for the students. A teacher can easily allot a work to a group of kids on through these worksheets. All this can help a student to learn and write in a fun way and even teach him/her how to perform in a team and forming social bond with other kids. There are many kinds of worksheets available but the best one is still the personally drafted one. This way one can easily check the level of difficulty that is offered to the kids according to their age and even check the progress level. Worksheets can be reused but it’s always better to upgrade them from time to time.
There are several ways of writing worksheets. Cursive writing worksheets and specialized kindergarten group worksheets are very common amongst the small children. The children get expertise by practicing over with these worksheets and learn the control of hand muscles for writing and follow the pattern of writing, which is helpful for them for their whole life. There are various patterns of the different letter strokes present in these worksheets. The tracing of these patters make the kids to slowly learn the structuring of letter.
While worksheets for homeschool can assist in home schooling, they cannot take the place of a proper homeschool curriculum. One disadvantage they have is that they often focus on one subject area only, without integrating the whole curriculum. They can also be simplistic and give the impression that the student understands more than he actually does.
Another option that you can do is let the children compare the graphs on the worksheets with the ’real’ graph based on the book. Talk about which food are missing, which food items have the same number, etc.
Pick a picture of a food item and ask the children to find items from the same food group that are bigger or smaller than the chosen picture (e.g. can you find a bigger/ smaller apple?)
